Dr. Loni Crumb is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and CEO of Carolina Cares
Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. As an Associate Professor in the Counselor Education Program
at East Carolina University, Dr. Crumb regularly practices thought leadership and wellness
advocacy.
Dr. Crumb has authored over 80 scholarly publications and professional presentations
related to counseling and wellness, and personal and professional development. She couples her
knowledge with her talent and visionary spirit.
As a native of eastern North Carolina, she’s passionate about rural communities and her interests include behavioral and mental health,workforce development, P-16 rural education, and social justice and multicultural training. She received the Professional Writing and Research Award from North Carolina Counseling Association in 2018 and was a recipient of the Profiles of Diversity Award, recognized for her commitment to issues of diversity, equity, and social justice in her life and work. Her rural North Carolina roots require her to be resourceful on behalf of the communities in which she works.
Assuch, she has secured funding exceeding 14 million dollars in support of her research and
service projects. Dr. Crumb received her Ph.D. in Counseling and Student Personnel Services
from the University of Georgia, M.A. in Education and Community Counseling from Clark
Atlanta University, and B.A. in Psychology from North Carolina State University.
